Black tea is a fully oxidized tea made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. Two main varieties are used in its production: Camellia sinensis var. sinensis, which is native to China and has smaller leaves, and Camellia sinensis var. assamica, which is native to India and characterized by larger leaves.
